Manic Monday

"Its just another Manic Monday "......ok its not , but when I started this blog it was .... sigh distractions like work can be tiresome ............ anyway ..... ,  I wonder how many of you remember that song , released 25 years ago in  1986 by the Bangles , I was just 22 years of age, serving time in the national defense force , it was like our monday national anthem , up early 04h30 , make you bed , complete the 3 "S"'s ... Shit , Shave and Shower , get dressed and by your bed ready for inspection 06h00, and who  knew what the day ... the week would bring .

Well 25 years on , and not much has changed ... ok I certainly don't get up at 04h30 , and I definatly dont stand by my bed ready for inspection at 06h00, however , being married for 17 years , it certainly feels like iam serving some sort of sentance , lol  i mean , had i been a convicted axe murderer , after 17 years , I would be eligable for parole by now ... A free man ! , but no its not all that bad , but the manic monday thing , today especially is very Manic , all will be revealed tomorrow ...... I promise !

What a sporting weekend we had , Rugby , Wales was unlucky to go do wn to the French , and of course , New Zealand didnt look like choking this time round ,  Sebastian takes the championship , & Australia feels like we did, having lost the Rugby as well as the T20 against our Proteas .

It's now Wednesday , a week later and iam still trying to finish my blog lol , such a lot has happened since then, New Zealand scraped past France, Proteas thrashed the aussies in the odi in east london , I signed with Ster Kinekor .......... THE BIG REVEAL , and now , we're in the middle of a heat wave .
Recently , I was up in Limpopo, the polar thermometer was no longer polar , more like "hells kitchen" , as the mecury showed a wopping 41 degs , now for polar bears this is not cool at all ! beside having torn my ligaments in my knee whilst playing rugby with the boys ...  my lovely white coat was now "strawberry blonde " .... a natural colour many women would die for lol , hence me staying away from all forms of fur traders ... if you know what I mean  .

On the movie front , nothing much is up , although I did watch the Smurfs with my children, those of you that are my age , or there abouts will remember the Smurfs in the 1980's, One could purchase a little blue figerine for around R2.00 , and even then that was a lot , well try buy one today ... R199.99 ..... for the same thing , i know its inflation but  WOW ........ !!!!

Anyway on my polar-scale i rate the Smurf movie entertaining , so its my vote and a 7 out of 10 ...

In closing, i need some opinions ... , Ive thought about talking about some "riskay" topics , like for instance The Brazilian " .... lady's shaving amongst other topics , however , i fear i might offend some of my readers .... so let me know ok ?

so from me once again ........ stay cool

Double Whammy

Well , we were just recovering from the beating we got from Australia and Bryce Lawrance , which incedently , iam absolutly devestated about , anyway ,   along comes the T20 series between SA & the Aussies, and can you believe it !!! We lost that one too .... my interest in SA cricket , I have to admit is weaning rapidly , what with a new captain , who desperatly needs a shave , and a rather chubby looking , rusty Graham Smith ....... and where is Jaques & Abie I ask myself ? If last nights performance is anything to go by for the up coming season , its gonna be along one , if one looks at the schedule its all cricket from now until September 2012 . All I can say is , Good Luck Boys !!

Anyway , moving on , I thought it might be nice to share some of my land and sea scapes with everybody . Comments and or crits are most welcome .

A couple of nights ago , i sat up and watched a movie on DSTV ,  This true life hard hitting drama shook me a little ,but had me absolutly glued to the box  its called "LIVE ! "

The Plot
Television executive Katy (Eva Mendes) develops what she hopes will become the most watched television show of all time, the ultimate game show called Live! where six contestants play Russian roulette with a revolver  During the show, after the cylinder is randomly turned, the six will fire the gun one by one pointed at their head, without intermediate extra turning of the cylinder, until one is killed. Thus this will happen anyway. At first the idea is to go give all six contestants $1,000,000 each, but, while there are more applicants at the auditions than expected, they are suicidal people. This is not desired, the contestants should want to live; therefore the prize is raised to $5,000,000 each for the surviving contestants, while the family of the killed contestant does not get any prize. Also contestants who do not have to pull the trigger because one is killed before it has been their turn get the prize.
The documentary filmmaker becomes involved in the making of the show by creating biographical segments about the contestants, who are Byron (Rob Brown), a young, struggling writer; Brad (Eric Lively), extreme sports star; Rick (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a man who had to spend much on medical bills for his young son and is now trying to save his family's farm; Jewel (Katie Cassidy), an aspiring actress; Abalone (Monet Mazur), a former super model turned performance artist; and Pablo (Jay Hernandez), a young gay Mexican immigrant determined to help his family .
Jewel is first, Pablo next, both are unharmed. Next is Abalone; before pulling the trigger with the gun pointed at herself she does a performance in which she frightens others by pointing the gun at them; she is also unharmed, but plays falling dead. The fourth is Byron, also unharmed. Brad is fifth and kills himself. Katy is shocked and feels guilty, and goes to the bathroom to throw up. The body is quickly removed off-camera. Rick, who would be sixth wins the prize without having to pull the trigger. After that, during the after-show press gang, a man comes forward with another gun and kills Katy. The network claims the murder is unrelated to the theme of the show. Apart from the murder the show is a success. It has become an annual broadcast.

Anyway , the week end is nigh and the RWC contiues . My closing prediction is , is that Wales will be contesting the Final with New Zealand , the out come of that is left for another blog , so with that my friends i bid you all

Monday Mourning

Well , it was a disastrous weekend , sports wise , All my teams lost . The mighty Boks succumed to the wallabies, thanks to Bryce Lawrence, The Bulls went down to Griquas , Wales beat Ireland .... and The Frogs beat the Poms , and to top it , The Royal Challangers Bangalore lost by 31 runs to the Mumbai indians in the champions league T20.  .... at least Sebastian took the world champoinship for the second time , which goes down in the history books as being the youngest double world champion ever , just goes to prove , Red Bull DOES have wings !

Whilst on sport, Iam sure most of you know old Darren Scott has been axed for using the "K" word  ( naughty naughty ) ....... but how many of you know that Peter Davies has been a very naughty boy too , as has Crystal Arnold  ( ok yes a naughty girl ) .. posing topless for playboy ..  , I mean , what is with these sports anchors ??........ they should write a book , titled " How to screw up a good career in one easy move "....... wont be a long book though .

Theres so much to talk about ..... in the music world , Dave beat Mark in Idols ...although , either one of them could have won it , I think it was the most professional show since its inception .
Did anyone watch "X-Factor" last night ? what a lot of "shite" . If they not crying on stage then they're arguing with the judges ..... WTF ?? and as for Paula Abdul , wow she's lost a lot of weight, she looks ill !

On the personal front , a new venture is looming on the horizon for me , cant say much about it just yet , but it will definitely be a life changing occurance , watch this space !

Ive seen a few movies of late ... my "epic fail " of the week, has to be the Mnet movie last night ... and expensive cast , what with the likes of Sylvester Stallone , Jason Statham, Mickey Rouke , Bruce Willis ..... and the list goes on ...with a cast like that , one would have thought that one was in for a treat , what movie am i talking about ??

yip , u guessed it .... The Expendables "
on my polar scale , i score it a 4 out of 10

My movie of the week goes to ... A true story , set in World War 2 , Siberia  A good cast , including Ed Harris as "Mr Smith & Colin Farrell as "Valka"

In 1941, three men reach India from Tibet, having walked 4000 miles after escaping a Siberian gulag. The film tells their story and that of four others who escaped with them and a teenage girl who joins them in flight. The group's natural leader is Janusz, a Pole condemned by accusations secured by torturing his wife; he knows how to live in the wilds. They escape under cover of a snowstorm: a cynical American, a Russian thug, a comic accountant, a pastry chef who draws, a priest, and a Pole with night blindness. They face freezing nights, lack of food and water, mosquitoes, an endless desert, the Himalayas, and moral questions of when to leave someone behind.

In closing , I would just like to add my 5 cents worth on the Dalai lama saga . I mean WTF , is our government up to ??? The Dalai is proberly one of the most respected spiritual leaders in the world . Pre 1994 , South Africa really needed him , and welcomed him with open arms , now 17 years into "democracy " ... our "esteemed " government has turned their back on him ... so this begs the question , Our boys in green had 70 % ball possession , 70 % field advantage ... we attacked from every angle , played outstanding rugby , but yet we lost ... is it "Dalai Karma" ???

I leave you with that thought !
